What to Look for When Buying a Car
Everyone wants to buy a car for themselves eventually but might be unaware as to what the qualities that they should look out for in a car are. In short, what does makes a car good?
Good cars are attractive, safe, fast, economical to operate, reliable, comfortable, and affordable to purchase. Some of these attributes may seem like a juxtaposition: is it possible to have a fast car which is safe? Short answer, yes. Long answer, the only thing that makes a fast car unsafe is a crazy, inconsiderate fool behind the wheel. A well-designed fast car can accelerate and steer away from trouble and brake to a stop from getting into trouble.
So what requirements fit the bill for determining what makes the absolute best car?
Attractiveness
People are most attracted towards a car if the sales strategies and the marketing campaigns by the car manufacturers are technology driven. Everyone wants to possess a car such that it is well ahead of the technology pack. Technology qualities such as turbocharged engines as well as all-wheel drives fascinate the buyers to a great extent. There should be a mix of qualities which make the car far ahead in technology as well as attractive as well as a design which is challenging. Just look at the BMW 7 series 2016. This is the epitome of good looks, style, substance, functionality and then some.
Luxury
People still buy cars that are not the least bit interesting to look at as long as they are designed according to their specifications. Keeping in mind their luxury aspects considered from a customer’s point of view. If a car is luxurious enough so as to cater the requirements of the market, they can be sold at a very not cheap price, even if they are rarely the fastest cars in the market. It is not sufficient enough if the cars are made quiet or designed with the recliner seats and the massaging seats, something extra to a far extent needs to be done so as to manage the name of the brand into the top brands in the luxury markets.
Sportiness
The display of sportiness should be in the form of real, genuine and the performance aspects should be considered. These days, the companies which manufacture the cars, at least major ones out of them are such that they have their focus which is oriented towards the giving of sporty looks to their cars. The cars should be a touch of sporty looks along with being dynamic. The sporty looks make the looks of the car get noticed for its style. It is a major fail if any car manufacturing companies come out of their intrinsic trait. Even Mercedez has a sports car.
“An all-new handcrafted 503-hp 4.0-liter V-8 thrusts power into a new era. Twin turbos mounted inside the “V” force-feed massive boost to each Direct Injected cylinder, and express-deliver 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. All 479 lb-ft of its torque is unleashed at just 1,750 rpm, with a growling exhaust note you can revel in or reel in, as you wish”. At least that’s what they said.
Value for money
It is often mistaken by people, that only the cars that are cheap or at least inexpensive are such that it gives us value for money. The value for a car comes from its reliability and dependability. The car gives us value when it is available to give top performance in the class of its own.
Dependability
Steadiness, dependability and trustworthiness these are what constitute towards the dependability of a car. There are also some cars in the market that offer some form of convenience. The car should be there for you to run some long distances whenever you want to take it for a drive. It should give you least number of repairs by itself. Because why else would you want to spend a fortune on a car only to end up spending more for repairs and trips to the garage every other time?
Finally, using this guide, we have seen some of the qualities that are possessed by a good car. However, there are some features that are considered by a vast majority of the population to contribute towards the overall greatness of a car. These include but are not limited to:
- Cruise Control– this keeps speed constant without having your foot on the pedal.
- 4WD to conquer the cliffs of the city every morning while commuting from your remote village.
- Tow Hitch because you never know when you’ll need a tow hitch (true story).
- Automatic transmission: People want automatic transmissions because it’s the only way to free up both hands for more important tasks, like applying mascara, checking out the morning newspaper, gesture obscenities at daft drivers in one hand and a coffee in the other. Also, they probably don’t like manual transmissions because they hate unicorns, don’t believe in magic and they hate hills, they really, really hate hills.
- Third Row Seat – the third row was invented for the extra family you are mostly unaware of (at least for the most part of the year anyway) who has to tag along with you for the annual family gathering. The one cousin you’ve always hated. Stuff him in the back and forget he was even there. Thank you third row
- Navigation System because driving is hard and the only map I am aware of is Google Maps.
But what do I know? Let us know what you think makes your car great.
